DFWMAS Winter Social 2017

On December 12 2017, we held our annual Winter Social. The event was held at Stacy’s Furniture and Design in Grapevine. We are blessed to have the support of Stacy’s as they allow us to hold our meetings and events at this great central location.

The two hour event was a whirlwind of activity with a door prize drawing every 15 minutes. Each member was provided with a free ticket just for being (awesome) a member. Additional tickets were available for bringing 5 cans of food which were donated to a local food pantry.

More than 100 cans of food were donated by members! Throughout the night we gave away over $1,000 worth of door prizes including gift certificates, dosing pumps, protein skimmers, and an RO/DI unit.

Pizza, salad and cheese bread was great, and came from Armend’s located on the first floor at Stacy’s.
The dessert contest delivered an array of fantastic desserts, but it was the cheesecake from Drex that took first place.

Marc gave a quick video (link below to his YouTube channel) of his most recent dive trip that inspired several to consider getting certified to dive.

The white elephant exchange was quite tame this year, but many went home with something they liked.

We had a great time socializing and meeting new members. Thank you to everyone who made this event a success as I look forward to next year, Happy Holidays.
