Club meeting: 7pm to 9pm

Topic: Setting up a Fish Room for an In-Wall Display Tank - With good preparation and planning, the room behind your reef tank can be a huge asset. Learn what to do before you start, as well as what can be done now to improve an established ‘man cave.’ Lighting, temperature, ventilation and the foundation are all important considerations, plus much more. This talk will be good for the DIYer as well as those that prefer to hire a contractor.

Speaker Bio: Marc Levenson has been in the hobby for over 12 years, but most know him by his username ‘melev’ of melevsreef.com - a site that was set up to help others be successful in the hobby. Taking what he has learned from others as well as from personal experience, he’s documented a variety of topics ranging from acrylic work to making your own fish food and quite a bit in between. He has served on the Board of Directors for MASNA, was editor for Reefkeeping Magazine, has articles in printed magazines, co-authored an e-book, and has been recording a podcast (Reefcast) since 2006. He cares for a 280g reef tank that recently turned five years old.

When he’s not traveling to speak to other clubs across the nation, he’s here helping with DFWMAS. Over the years, he has served as Moderator, Newsletter Editor, President and later Ex-Officio, and currently is the Membership Coordinator for the club.

We meet at Stacy Furniture in Grapevine, Tx on the second Wednesday of each month. We meet in the Common Room; enter the building and take the elevator to the third floor. Guests are welcome to attend to learn more about DFWMAS. The meeting features a specific topic, which often is provided by a speaker using PowerPoint. Meetings conclude after all the door prizes have been given out.
